A new tribute idea for 2014: Do something on their list!

We love the idea of tributes/memorials here. Anytime you can pay homage to your loved one, we really believe it is a healthy, cathartic experience. But let’s be honest: we all get tired of candles and balloon releases. That’s not to say those memorials are bad things, it’s just that they can feel routine after a couple of times.

And our loved ones deserve much more than us going through the motions.

So that’s why this idea of “tribute” is a cool idea to us. Every one of our loved ones had something they wanted to do on their list of life goals that went unfulfilled. Why don’t we knock a couple items off?

Examples: Your loved one always talked about sky-diving – it was something they were so curious about trying. Then pick up a parachute, hop in a plane and jump into the great beyond. Maybe your loved one always wanted to spend time working with the homeless. There is no reason that you can’t go down to a soup kitchen for a night and work in their name.

The basic idea is to think of something your loved one always wanted to do and then go do that as a means of connecting with them, a tribute of sorts.

And when your done, tell us about it! Video, picture, written testimonial, well-choreographed song and dance number – we want to hear about it!

  1. I went to Peru, Machu Picchu. I scattered his ashes all over Peru. But the best was leaving some if his ashes at the gate of the gods. Puerta de Hayu Marka
Doorway of the Amaru Meru (Aramu Muru).
This was the trip we were To take together.
The hiking, climbing and the spirtual mysticism of the various locations made it all the more special. I’m so glad I did this trip. ❤
