Planning for the event

I thought it might be benificial, with two months and two days until the event, to run through how we envision everything happening.

The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on July 28, 2012 at Tiguex park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of violent crime in the community and to remember the lives of people lost to a violent crime.

Set up and check in will start at 4:00 p.m. At this time vendors and people from the community can set up or find a place to sit on the grassy area across from the stage. This will also be the time when families willing to speak about how the loss of their loved one will check in with RHV volunteers.

At 5:00 p.m. I will take to the stage and welcome everyone and introduce the families.The families, and possibly a vctims advocate will be the first block of speakers.

At 6:00 p.m. (to 6:30 p.m.) the guests will mix and mingle with each other and any boothes.

At 6:30 the second start of speakers will begin. This will be the time when representatives from various agencies speak about how they keep New Mexico safe, plans for the future safety of New Mexican communities and how to be safer in our daily lives.

At 7:30 p.m. the guests will mix and mingle with each other and any boothes.

At 8:00 p.m. the memorial portion of the event will take place. Submitted names will be read and candles/lighted balloons will be displayed.
